The Bull Bikes - WRS Team's special wildcard secured a hard-fought victory in the fifth race of the V2 Future Champ Ducati Academy season!
It was a weekend of true passion for the V2 Future Champ Ducati Academy as it took center stage during the WRS Round alongside the WorldSBK Championship! Under the watchful eyes of Claudio Domenicali, Mauro Grassilli, Davide Tardozzi, Gigi Dall'Igna, Serafino Foti and, of course, academy ambassador Michele Pirro, the V2 riders delivered two thrilling races, with Andrea Migno crossing the finish line first under the chequered flag in Sunday's race after an incredible battle with teammate Devis Bergamini and Atomico Racing Team's Spanish rider Jesus Torres!
In reality, the fight for the podium also involved Talmacsi Racing Team's Hungarian rider Kevin Farkas and Team Kuja's Kevin Sabatucci, both of whom remained in contention for the battle for victory right up until the final lap.
The tenth and final lap, which proved decisive for the final result, saw Bergamini's efforts come undone. The Italian rider touched the green section at Curvone and was subsequently penalised by Race Direction, forcing him to surrender second place to Spain's Torres.
With a sixth-place finish, Romanian rider Jacopo Hosciuc returned to the top ten after Saturday's crash. Behind him came Lele Vocino, V2 series newcomer Daniele Galloni, while Raffaele Tragni finished ninth and Nicola Tonolo tenth. A real shame for Portuguese rider Martim, who crashed in the opening stages of the race while running in the leading group!
The overall standings now see Devis Bergamini leading the championship with 87 points. Just 8 points behind is Jacopo Hosciuc, while Jesus Torres and Kevin Sabatucci follow at 12 and 13 points adrift respectively. Lele Vocino sits 25 points behind the leader, meaning the V2 Future Champ Ducati Academy heads into the double WDW round with no fewer than five riders covered by just 25 points in the standings: the title fight is more open than ever!

"I really enjoyed myself today. In fact, the truth is that I've been enjoying myself since Friday. I made a small mistake in Race 1, so today I tried to learn from Saturday's race and, in the end, I managed to come out on top. "Once again, the riders of the V2 Future Champ Ducati Academy made me emotional. In fact, I was left speechless. The WRS Round was a fiercely contested race from the first lap to the last, with as many as five riders fighting for victory. I feel sorry for Martim, the Portuguese rider, who crashed in the early stages of the race because, judging by his performances, he could certainly have been in the battle as well. Today, the victory went to Migno, a rider with tremendous experience, but our young talents showed great character. Bergamini was competitive and incredibly fast, Torres was determined and becoming more effective race after race, but it's not only them who impressed me - the entire group continues to improve steadily, proving that the path we have chosen is the right one. I would like to thank all the sponsors who make all of this possible. We now remain fully focused because, from July 3rd to 5th, the big World Ducati Week event awaits us, and based on what we've seen so far, two spectacular and hard-fought races are in store."
