Operation Triumph

After experiencing its “Day Zero” on March 8 at the Village Technogym in Cesena, the V2 Future Champ Ducati Academy officially put the wheels on the track giving rise to an intense two-day test, on March 9 and 10, on the Misano circuit. For the occasion Garage 51, creator and promoter of the series, has put in place an important organizational and logistical effort to welcome and support over twenty riders from all over the world, who arrived on the Romagna track to become familiar with the Ducati V2 protagonists of the trophy.

The numbers tell well the intensity of these 48 hours of work on the track: over 30 mechanics, 12 motorcycles and 21 riders engaged in a busy schedule of shifts and tests. Alongside the Italian drivers: Martin Galiuto, Angelo Filardi, Andrea Benvenuti, Raffaele Tragni, Vito Iconomu, Diego Goretti, Andrea Mercaldo, Lele Vocino, Devis Bergamini, Valentino Casalboni and Jacopo Hosciuc, the test immediately took on an international dimension with the presence of the Spanish Jesus Torres, Daniel Mongeda and David Jimenez, of the Hungarians Bence Kecskes

During the sessions, the young talents took turns driving the V2 according to the assigned rounds, sharing extremely positive impressions at the end of the day. The “little” Ducati has in fact convinced everyone for handling, ease of driving and immediate feeling, qualities that have allowed the riders to quickly find a good pace on the Misano track and the results have been tangible with this stock version in fact the best time was recorded in a 1’42’’, a great time thinking about the first exit of these riders with the V2 and with weather conditions not yet at the top.

To supervise these first two days of work was Michele Pirro who, shift after shift, followed the boys on the track, dispensing advice and valuable indications. The focus of the tests, Pirro reminded the participants, was not the absolute performance but the ability to focus on driving, understand the bike, thus appreciating its characteristics, even in its stock configuration, designed to enhance the talent and training of young riders.

“It was two intense days of testing, which showed the young riders the technical goodness of this V2 that was confirmed on the track, as on paper, the ideal means to accompany young talents in the demanding path of motorcycle professionalism. We carried out with Garage 51 a great work of organization that logistically speaking allowed all participants to be able to evaluate on the track the V2 that in their stock version was able to run in Misano on the time of one minute and forty-two, a great start therefore and for us the great satisfaction in verifying how all the riders present have expressed positive reviews on the bike!"
